You WILL think of me during the break.

ALL Algebra 1 students have a Test Packet due on Monday December 1st. It will count as a quiz grade. Need i remind you, quizzes make up 30% of your grade.

ALSO, don’t forget to do Pages 278 & 279.

BWAH HAH HAH! You thought you got rid of me for a week!

HOMEWORK REMINDER

Don’t forget that packets Rate of Change and Activity 2 (Motion Detector/CBR activity) are due on Monday at the latest.

Adelu, out!

Oh No! ANOTHER CBA?

HISD CBA #2 is Friday, November 21, 2008, covering material from the beginning of the school year.  Review the following chapters in the ML Algebra 1 textbook, use online resources, and arrange for tutoring if you need it.

Chapter 1 – Expressions, Equations, and Functions
Chapter 2 – Properties of Real Numbers
Chapter 3 – Solving Linear Equations
Chapter 4 – Graphing Linear Equations and Functions
Chapter 6 – Solving and Graphing Linear Inequalities

‘Allo, ‘Allo!

We started Sections 4.2 and 4.3 with:

a) Graphing Co-ordinate points
b) A little translating points
c)
Graphing Linear Equations using the intercept method

Theoretically, you should now know what a linear function is and how to tell just by looking at an equation if it is linear. You should also be able to graph the solution to the function. We will continue with graphing functions. If you learnt the intercept method, you will learn the point method and if you learnt the generic method, you will learn the intercept method.

If you are anything like me, you will love the intercept method once you have seen both.

QUICK! WHAT DOES Y=2 LOOK LIKE?

Now for the part noone likes:

HOMEWORK:

PRE-AP:
a)Take the triangle ABC with vertices located at A(0,1) ,  B(0,4)  and  C(3,2) and translate it as many times as it takes to make that pretty picture( you know the one i mean!) I need to know the translations you made and the co-ordinates those translations took you to.
b) Pg. 219 Numbers 12, 18, 20, 23-25. If you were paying attention today, you should be able to do it with your eyes closed -okay, maybe with one eye closed. :)

PREP:
a)Take the point A located at (0,5) and translate it as many times as it takes to draw a triangle. I need to know the translations you made and the co-ordinates those translations took you to.
b) Pg. 219 Numbers 10, 16, 18, 22.

ADELU, OUT!

SUBSTITUTE ALERT!!

I WILL NOT BE AT SCHOOL FRIDAY, MONDAY AND TUESDAY. YOU WILL HAVE A SUB.

BEHAVE!!!! YOU DO NOT WANT ME GETTING BAD REPORTS ABOUT YOU!

EACH ONE OF YOU SHOULD TURN IN TWO WORKSHEETS PER DAY IN PREP AND 3 IN PRE-AP. I ALSO EXPECT YOU TO TURN YOUR HOMEWORK IN TO THE SUB. ALRIGHT? AIGHT!

ADELU, OUT!

ISS for Ms. Adelu’s Tardies!

I apologize for not keeping up with the blog but progress report time gets a little hectic!

So far, we have covered Solving and Graphing Solutions to Inequalities (Sections 6.1-6.3). Now, we are dealing with COMPOUND INEQUALITIES (Section 6.4).After that, we will be moving on to Absolute Value Equations. YAY! ;-)

Now for the serious business:
